This Privacy Policy explains how landedcostcalc.com ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use the Import Duty & Landed Cost Calculator and related pages (the "Service"). We built this Service to be usable without an account and without handing over personal data, and this policy describes exactly what does and doesn't happen with your information.

1. Calculator inputs stay in your browser

The shipment values, freight costs, duty rates, and markup percentages you enter into the calculator are processed entirely client-side, in your browser. We do not transmit these inputs to our servers, store them in a database, or associate them with your identity. When you export a cost sheet or print a summary, that document is generated locally on your device.

2. Local storage and cookies

We use your browser's local storage to remember a small number of display preferences, such as whether you've selected dark mode, and to remember your cookie consent choice. This information stays on your device and is not accessible to us. If we display advertising or use third-party analytics (see below), those providers may set their own cookies or similar technologies subject to their own privacy policies.

3. Analytics, advertising, and your consent choices

We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns — for example, which pages are visited and roughly how the Service is used — so we can improve it. We may also display advertising through Google AdSense to help keep this tool free. Both may use cookies, device identifiers, or similar technologies, and may collect information about your visits to this and other websites.

If you email us through the address on our Contact Uspage, we receive whatever information you choose to include (such as your email address and message content). We use this only to respond to your inquiry and do not sell or share it with third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Third-party links

Our pages link to external resources, including US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the Office of the US Trade Representative (USTR), for reference. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external sites, and we encourage you to review their policies separately.

6. Children's privacy

The Service is intended for business and professional use by importers and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Service or applicable law. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision, and continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
